Privacy Policy

Range is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect the minimum data necessary to help you find fuel prices near you, and we do not track, profile, or share your information.

What we collect

Location data

Range uses your device’s precise location to find nearby fuel stations and calculate distances. This data is:

• Processed on your device — your coordinates are used to query nearby stations but are not stored on our servers
• Not linked to your identity — we do not associate location data with any account or identifier
• Not used for tracking — we do not track your movements or build location profiles

You can revoke location access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.

No analytics or tracking

Range contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking code. We do not use cookies on this website.

Data stored on your device

Range stores the following data locally on your device:

• Preferences — your fuel type, vehicle MPG, and display settings (via UserDefaults)
• Cached fuel prices — recent station and price data to reduce network requests (stored in the app’s Caches directory with automatic expiry)
• Favourite stations — your saved stations, synced across your devices via your personal iCloud account
• Price alerts — your notification thresholds and station selections

This data is not transmitted to us. iCloud sync is handled entirely by Apple’s CloudKit framework under your Apple Account.

Third-party services

Range retrieves fuel price data from the UK Government’s Fuel Finder API and directly from participating retailer data feeds. These requests contain only the geographic area being searched — no personal information is sent.

We do not integrate with any advertising networks, social media platforms, or analytics services.

Data retention

We do not store your personal data on our servers. Cached data on your device expires automatically (fuel prices after 15 minutes, station data after 1 hour).

Children’s privacy

Range does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require an account and collects no personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
